eSignature REST API v2.0 End of Support QA
What will change?
Throughout the year of 2021, sections of our eSignature REST API v2 will no longer be maintained on a regular basis. eSignature REST API v2 documentation and new product developments will no longer receive updates during this end of support plan. eSignature REST API v2 SDKs, security issues, and bugs will continue to receive patches and updates until the end of the support date.
What will not change?
eSignature REST API v2 calls will continue to operate even after February 2022 for the foreseeable future.
Why are we making this change?
The DocuSign eSignature REST API v2 has been around for several years. While we've made continuous improvements to the existing API, there are limits to what can be done to maintain compatibility with existing integrations. DocuSign has been working on an iteration of our API used by our first party apps, including our web app. This iteration is the new eSignature API v2.1. API v2.1 has been available since May 2019 and is an incremental improvement on its predecessor, so you will find much that is familiar. Notable improvements include improved usability, enhanced envelope search, better tools for handling large workloads, and many more.
When can you expect these changes?
eSignature REST API v2 will continue operating after February 2022. As we head farther into 2021, DocuSign will slowly stop supporting sections of the v2 API, starting first with API references and documentation. eSignature REST API v2 SDKs, security issues, and bugs will continue to receive patches and updates until the end of the support date in 2022.
