Why are signers not being prompted for Name and Email in my PowerForm?
IssueSigners of a PowerForm are taken directly into signing instead of being prompted to supply their name and email before going into the envelope.
SolutionThe removal of this screen is a native feature of DocuSign PowerForms which do not have Require Email Validation enabled and include both an Email field and either a Full Name field or First Name and Last Name fields assigned to the first signer. As this is a native feature it cannot be disabled except by modifying the template so it does not comply with the requirements to remove the initial name and email screen.

DocuSign PowerForms can become even easier for signers by removing the initial screen asking for the signer’s name and email address.
To use this option, the PowerForm template that is being sent must have the First Name, Last Name and Email fields or the Full Name and Email fields added for the first recipient in the routing order. When the recipient begins signing, the screen where the recipient is asked to enter their name and email information is skipped and the recipient goes directly to the signing screen.
The following restrictions and limitations are associated with this native feature:
It can only be used with PowerForms which do not have Require Email Validation enabled.
- It can work in PowerForms with multiple recipients where the first recipient is not defined and subsequent recipients are defined.
- If the template contains more than one recipient, all subsequent recipients must have both the name and email defined in the template and must have the Advanced Settings Don’t allow senders to edit recipient and Don’t allow senders to delete recipient both enabled
- This feature will not work if there are subsequent recipients which do not have both name and email defined in the template
It can be used with access code authentication, but not with advanced authentication methods (e.g. ID Check, SMS Auth, Phone Auth).
- It will not work if the Signature Adoption Configuration for your account is set so that a signer must draw their signature (the Disable style selection option is selected). These settings can only be changed by an administrator. See Signature Adoption Configuration for more information.
