Email blocking

DocuSign email notifications may be blocked by either your email server, firewall, email provider, or email client.

  • Confirm email with sender and ask the sender to resend
  • Trust all emails from docusign.net

Stop reminders

Senders control how often reminders to sign are sent.

Your options to stop receiving email reminders to sign:
  • Decline to sign
  • Complete signing
  • Contact the sender and ask them to Void/Cancel the document. You can simply "reply to" the email notification to contact the sender of the document.

Required fields not completed

When signing a document, once all required fields have been completed, the Finish button will appear. If the Finish button is not appearing, it is due to one or more incomplete required fields.

Quick Steps

  • Use the auto navigation feature ( yellow tab ) to help you navigate the document. When the "Finish" button becomes active, you can complete signing.

Signature adoption

The first time you click a SIGN or INITIAL field, you are asked to adopt a signature and initials.

Quick Steps

  • First verify your name and initials are correct.
  • If not, you can change them as needed. If you would like to change your name or initials, type the changes in the Full Name and Initials fields.
  • Choose if you want to select a preformatted signature style or if you will draw your signature.

Downloading or printing a completed document

Once you have completed signing you will be prompted to download or print your signed document.

Quick Steps

  • Click the "Review Document" link in your email.
  • Locate the bar near the top of the document.
Download Icon
  • To Download: Click the icon with the down arrow. You will get the option to download as separate PDFs or combined PDFs.
    • Separate PDF - Downloads the documents in a .ZIP file and individual PDFs
    • Combined PDF - Downloads a single PDF that includes all documents.
Choose where you would like to download them to your computer.
  • To Print: Click the printer icon then choose the printer that you would like to print to.

Document is being corrected by sender

If a sender decides to make corrections, the document is temporarily not accessible.

Quick Steps

  •  Wait a short period of time and attempt to access the envelope
  • If the envelope is still not accessible, please contact the sender.

You might be prompted to provide supporting documentation to the sender by uploading or faxing a document to the DocuSign® envelope during the signing process.

Quick Steps

  • The easiest option is to upload the document.
  • When faxing your documents, the DocuSign fax cover page must be the first page that is sent. The fax cover page has information that links the requested documents to the envelope and the documents might be lost if the cover page is not the first page.

Mobile rotate to sign

When signing with the DocuSign Mobile App for iOS, Android, or Windows Phone, you may be prompted to rotate your phone to draw the signature.

Quick Steps

  • If you are unable to rotate your phone from Portrait orientation to Landscape orientation, you may need to enable auto-rotation on your device.

Fax/Sign on paper

In some cases you might prefer to sign a document using pen on paper. The Print & Sign allows you to sign documents on paper and then return them by upload or fax.

Quick Steps

  1. Click the "Review Document" link in your email.
  2. Click OTHER ACTIONS in the top right corner.
  3. Select PRINT & SIGN then select either Upload or Fax.
