RON Registration Resources - Alaska

In the state of Alaska*, a commissioned notary public must submit a written request to the office of the Lieutenant Governor to perform a notarization for a remotely located individual, more commonly referred to as a remote online notarization (RON).

The application enables users to manage their organization's notaries, set up notary profiles, prepare documents to be notarized, authenticate signers, facilitate encrypted audio-visual sessions, and generate a digital journal and audio-visual recording. 

Docusign Notary uses an electronic signature or eSignature. eSignature typically refers to a person's process to demonstrate their intent during an electronic transaction. The eSignature is the legally binding record of the transaction.

Each notarial transaction generates a detailed audit trail for each notarial session with a tamper-evident Certificate of Completion. At the same time, your notaries public can access the encrypted audio-visual recording and electronic journal directly within Docusign.
 

The notary will use Docusign Notary to apply an electronic signature and add their Docusign generated Digital Notary seal to a sample document to upload to the state.
