RON Registration Resources - North Dakota

A notary public must provide the following information to the North Dakota* Secretary of State's office to perform remote online notarizations (RON):

1. Notification that the notary public will be performing notarial acts for remotely located individuals; and

2. Identification of the technologies the notary public intends to use by providing the name of the provider of the communication technology utilized for RON.

Provider: Docusign Notary

Description of the Technology (if needed):

Docusign Notary is the trusted way to remotely and electronically notarize documents. Notary empowers notaries public with the digital tools and training they need to conduct remote online notarization transactions. The application enables users to manage their organization's notaries, set up notary profiles, prepare documents to be notarized, authenticate signers, facilitate encrypted audio-visual sessions, and generate a digital journal and audio-visual recording.

Docusign Notary uses an electronic signature or eSignature. eSignature typically refers to a person's process to demonstrate their intent during an electronic transaction. The eSignature is the legally binding record of the transaction.

Each notarial transaction generates a detailed audit trail for each notarial session with a tamper-evident Certificate of Completion. At the same time, your notaries public can access the encrypted audio-visual recording and electronic journal directly within Docusign.

This notification may be provided by email to sosnotary@nd.gov, by fax to (701) 328-1690, or by letter to:
